2022 is approaching FAST and will be here before we know it.

Soon, we’ll all start thinking of our New Years Resolutions and what our health & fitness goals are for the new year.

We go into the new year fired up, motivated, and ready to conquer our goals, but then we slip back into our old habits and forget all about our new year’s goals.

In fact, by just the second week of January, 25% of people have abandoned their resolutions!

So, how do we find the motivation and discipline to get started and continue to work out consistently?

Well, that’s exactly what we’ll be going over today.

Here are 4 key strategies that will help you stick to and crush your health and fitness goals. Whether you’ve already made incredible progress but fell off the wagon, or simply want to get started, these 4 strategies will help you get going and make a real lifestyle change!

1.  Get On A Set Plan

The more we have to think about what we have to do, the higher the chances are that we’ll procrastinate and end up not doing it altogether.

By being on a set plan, you immediately take thinking out of the equation. You simply go to the gym/your home workout area, check your phone, see what body part(s) you’re working out today, see what exact exercises you’re doing with the number of reps, sets, and rest, and get to work!

You completely avoid the initial thought of ‘What am I going to do today at the gym? Maybe I’ll do x,y, and z’, and you rarely ever push yourself since you’re the one creating the workout.

Get on a set workout plan that fits your goals, and working out will become that much easier for you to do!

2. Schedule Your Workouts

After we’re in a set workout program, we need to put it in our daily schedule (yes, I mean physically put it in our schedules).

When you block out a specific time of the day for your workout, you’re making that a priority in the day.

If you can, try to work out at the same time every day. When we do this, it starts to become a daily habit and will start to become automatic. If your work hours change often, schedule your workouts as soon as you find out what your work hours are. Don’t just tell yourself that you’ll work out when you can because let’s be honest… that’s not going to happen.

3. Be Accountable To Someone Other Than Yourself

This is one of the most important factors when it comes to hitting your health & fitness goals and making a lifestyle change.

Having a group of people (or just one person) holding us accountable and making sure we worked out and ate healthy that day is vital because it will push past our own limiting beliefs.

Over 90% of the testimonials in NanoTest Nation mention their huddles and how they have been the driving force as to why they’re staying consistent on a daily basis.

4. Do What You Can, The Best You Can

In other words, don’t go 110% for 4 days in a row, just to burn out and quit on the 5th day because you’re overwhelmed and can’t imagine doing that every day for the rest of your life.

If you haven’t worked out in years, start by going on a walk, 5 days per week and track your distance each walk. After a week or two, increase your distance a little and keep doing that until it becomes easy for you. Next thing you know, you’ve walked multiple miles over the past month, and you’re potentially ready to take it to the next level!

We are all at different levels when it comes to our health & fitness, know where you’re at, and do what you can the absolute best you can!

IN CLOSING

You might have read through each of these and thought ‘well, that sounds simple enough…’ That’s because it is simple.

But just because it’s simple, doesn’t mean it isn’t difficult.

Making a lifestyle change is difficult, to say the least, but it is also incredibly rewarding.

Eventually, your friends and family will start to notice the changes you’re making, and they’ll start making changes themselves. You’ll be their motivation to make a change.

The future ‘you’ will thank you.

Your friends will thank you

Your spouse will thank you

Your kids will thank you

We are all the leaders of our own respected circles, it’s time to set the example and lead ourselves and the people around us forward.
